The Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot or the Feast of Booths, is a biblical festival celebrated by Jews and some Christian groups. It is one of the three pilgrimage festivals in Judaism, where worshippers historically journeyed to Jerusalem to worship at the temple.

Biblical Origins: The Feast of Tabernacles is commanded in Leviticus 23:33-44. It commemorates the 40 years that the Israelites spent in the wilderness, living in temporary shelters (booths or “sukkot”) after their exodus from Egypt. It’s a reminder of God’s provision and faithfulness during that time.

Timing: The festival begins on the 15th day of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Jewish calendar, which usually falls in September or October. It lasts for seven days, followed by an additional day known as Shemini Atzeret.
