The Tabernacle as a Type of Christ
In Christian theology, the Tabernacle is often seen as a “type” or symbol of Jesus Christ:
• The Presence of God: Just as God’s presence dwelled in the Tabernacle, Christians believe that God’s presence now dwells with humanity in Jesus. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” The Greek word used for “dwelling” can be translated as “tabernacled.”
• Mediator: Just as the high priest would intercede for the people in the Tabernacle, Jesus is considered the ultimate mediator between God and humanity.
